Sheriff Wilson is a live long resident of Clare County. His family moved to the area in the 1930’s. He started his career in law enforcement when he was in middle school on the Explorers program. In 1987 he joined the reserve unit and shortly after started working dispatch and corrections for the Clare County Sheriff Office. In 1989 he graduated from the 44th Delta Police Academy and started working the road as a Deputy. Sheriff Wilson has held many positions during his career including Sergeant, K9 Handler, Diver, ERT Member, School Liaison, and many more. Sheriff Wilson was elected in 2008 as Sheriff and is currently in his 3rd term.
