Sheriff Todd Tardiff graduated from Gladstone Area High School in 1986 and Northern Michigan University (NMU) in 1990. He graduated from NMU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corrections. In January of 1991 he was hired by the Delta County Sheriff Department. He begun his career as a Dispatcher and Corrections Officer. He became a Road Patrol Officer in 1993. After becoming a Road Patrol Officer he was eventually promoted to Road Patrol Sergeant and finally Lieutenant. He retired from the department in May of 2023 with 32 years of service. Tardiff was elected to the position of Sheriff in 2024
