Sheriff Shea obtained an associate degree from Kirtland Regional Police Academy and furthered his education at Michigan State University, Mid Michigan Community College and Delta College. Along with owning and operating the “Freeman Nursery”, Sheriff Shea sits on many boards and civic organizations like Board of Directors for American Red Cross, DARE Advisory Board, and Coalition Reducing Domestic Violation & Sexual Assaults. He started at the Gladwin County Sheriff Department in December of 1988 and was appointed Sheriff in October 2002.
