Sheriff Scott McKenna has been in and around police work almost his entire life. He was born and raised in Lapeer County and his father, Bob, was a Michigan State Trooper. Scott began his own career in law enforcement in 1994 with Mt. Morris Township. Sheriff McKenna worked as a Road Patrol officer for 2 years and then went uncover in the narcotics unit and also with the canine unit. In 2000 he was promoted to Sergeant. He was quickly promoted up the chain of command, making Detective Sergeant and Commander before finally taking the position of Chief of Police for Mt. Morris Township in 2010.Sheriff McKenna is married to his beautiful wife, Nicole, a Physician’s Assistant and has 2 wonderful children: Braydon 13 and Mya 10.
