Sheriff Troy Bevier graduated from the 36th Mid-Michigan Police Academy in Lansing and has over 30 years of law enforcement experience most of which is serving with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office where he began as a Deputy Sheriff in 1988. Sheriff Bevier was a Detective, a Field Training Officer, a Sergeant, Dispatch Director, SWAT Leader and Lieutenant before retiring in 2013.
Sheriff Bevier was appointed as Lenawee County Sheriff on March 1st 2019 after serving two years as Undersheriff and four years as the Deputy Director of IT for Lenawee County. Sheriff Bevier has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice as well as a 2000 graduate of Eastern Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command. Sheriff Bevier is the Chair of the CLEMIS Application and Development Committee and sits on numerous Boards. Sheriff Bevier has lived in Tecumseh Township for over 23 years with his wife Sally and has two adult sons.
