Sheriff Mike Murphy began his career with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in 1990 as a Corrections Deputy. Nine months later he was transferred to the Field Services Division where he was assigned to general law enforcement and trained as a DARE instructor. Sheriff Murphy was promoted to Sergeant in 1996; to Lieutenant in 2000 and appointed Undersheriff in 2005. In November, 2016, Mike was appointed Sheriff to fill the remaining term of retired Sheriff Bob Bezotte. Sheriff Murphy took the reins as the elected Sheriff of Livingston County January 1, 2017.
